Visiting the Family Farm: A Photo Journal

My family has a little farm house on some land in the Western part of Virginia and every couple years I go out to visit.

Highlights from the trip:

  • driving a little old barely running Jeep around the trails, getting lost, broken down, but having just enough beer to make it back.

  • starting the fire in the mornings before everyone wakes up. The downstairs living area has a fireplace that’s really the family centerpiece when we’re there.

  • target practice and shooting guns in the backyard.

  • the old lady ghost upstairs.

  • letting the dogs off-leash to explore the area - Dragon seemed older or more mature than the last time we visited, as he stuck around a lot closer to the farm than he usually does.
